Yes you can.----But post the compression test results on the 110 HP before you do all the work.

Above is pretty clear. What I believe he's saying is "it will fit on the transom but if it's a new to you used outboard make sure it's reliable before you waste your time installing it.

Did you get something different?

Yeah, all the guy asked was will it bolt up and that racerguy seems to be obsessed with taking and posting compression numbers.

You didn' ask about a bolt on, you ask if you could swap them.....you could swap to any motor and drill new holes! Whenever you buy another motor, there are certain things that should be done before using it.

"DIRECTLY SWAP" is what the guy asked. I would assume that would mean the bolt holes too. What's wrong with you guys?

The 110 HP is a V-4 crossflow engine.----These motors have a record of breaking piston rings.-----I am assuming the original poster got a " deal " on the 110 motor.----Just reminding someone to do a simple check on this motor before going through all the work of installing it !!----Trying to save someone a lot of time and I get slammed for it.-----I should just spend more time working in the garden I suppose.

To get a back to the op, if you're boat is rated for the upgrade the swap is doable. If not, then you could have some liability in an accident.

Interpretation of direct swap can go many ways....like things that really matter and things that can be modified easily. Certainly "butting in" on another posting doesn't make sense. All of Racers answers here was good solid advice including the garden.

Here is mine from last year and it was very delicious and relaxing.

if the motor is healthy (check the compression), and if the pontoon is rated for it. you should be able to bolt it on.

however, if the boat is not rated for it, the motor will tear the transom off the pontoon. you also wont go much faster unless the boat has lifting strakes.

The 110 is a 35 year old crossflow.----Inspect / verify condition before installing it.

Bolt holes line up....is the boat rated for something that big?
Yes the boat is rated for 110. I’m a novice to the boat world but really am interested in learning all I can about the boats I own. Any guidance is very appreciated

When you get the 110 installed, drop the Gearcase and replace the Water Pump Impeller. As suggested earlier, a Compression Test is a good idea. Also changing the Gear Oil is a good Idea, If any Water Drains out, or the Oil looks like Mocha, or looks like it has fine Metal Flake, disassembly and Inspection is needed
