1990 90HP Force Water Pump Woes

Needing item #24 (plastic piece) in water pump assembly for a buddy of mine. Anyone know if there is any availability anywhere. No luck with initial search. Part # 697706-1

Without a parts diagram to show what part#24 is, not sure what you're looking for. Both marineengine.com and Crowley show part #24 is a gear housing cover w/seal part#FA721706......and is this an L-Drive?

A search for part#697706-1 came up empty.....

Found this.....part#697706-1 is the same as part#818074A1.....for an L-Drive gearcase cover.

These parts show to be NLA......but may show up as used parts somewhere (ebay, etc).

Thanks so much for the responses. I will pass the information on. My friend has had only one kind of luck with this boat and motor so far. Thinking he needs to replace with a more user friendly outboard.

If it is in fact an L-drive engine, they were known as the Hell-drive.....for good reason.
