You don’t want to switch to pertronix. It’s less reliable than points. Delco voyager if you really have to have electronic.

Just go to the parts store and tell them you need a coil for a 1965 Chevy II with a 153. Pretty sure it’s a 1.5 ohm, but that’ll get you a coil that will work

Unfortunately, I can't go to the part store as there are none around me, especially none with good knowledge of old American engines (I live in Italy). The internet is my part store :) I have a copy of the service manual, but I can't find any tech info regarding the coil.
I don't have to go electronic I just thought it would be more reliable. The Delco Voyager kit is about 550$ compared to the 250 of the Petronix, but I guess you pay for what you get.

The best points come out of Italy.

I agree with Matt, stick with points

Rockauto will ship international and they have the coil you need. Actually I’m 90% positive that the points and condenser for a 1965 Chevy 2 4cyl will also fit your distributor meaning you can get everything you need from them.

Standard ignition UC12X is a coil that I know will work. That is for a 1965 Chevy II 153. You will be able to find that somewhere on Ebay.

Delco voyager is a fine system, BUT it’s a fully electronic unit, meaning the advance is done inside the module. The advance curve is set for the newer cylinder heads used after 1992 or so and actually use less advance than your distributor, thus you may loose a little performance.

I will say that I had a 1951 Chevy with its factory 235 I6 and I switched it to pertronix. It started quicker and ran better. But that was a 6v module and totally different than the 12v igniter I.. but it’s not how it runs, it’s how reliable the system is and the Ignitors are known to leave boats dead in the water. They either burn up coils or the coils burn up the module. There isn’t a happy medium

so with the Delco I cannot just rotate the unit to set the advance?
also cannot get the UC12X anywhere in Europe

You can use that part number to get an equivalent. And you can advance base timing to get your total where it should be but. That makes more issues with starting and running hot at idle

Hi,
I need to replace the coil on my engine. The one currently installed is a random coil salvaged from a random engine. What is the correct coil? I believe I have a Delco cap.
One more thing: I want to switch to electronic ignition is this the right kit? https://pertronixbrands.com/product...-dwell-control-delco-4-cyl-clockwise-rotation

thanks
I have been running the pertronix kit in my 89 3 ltr OMC for 15 years with zero issues.had to make a fix for the shift interrupter.( Found on this site).I have no complaints.
