Correct Temp gauge for Merc 3.0 Sender 97257A1

Looking for Help with changing out an old cracked temp gauge that seems to be reading incorrect. I am also going to change the Sending unit with Mercrusier part number 97257A1. For the life of me i cant find a way to find a gauge that i know will read correct. I know that resistance scales are different between manufactures. can anyone please lead me in the right direction ? This is a 1989 Mercrusier 3.0 Engine. Thank you in Advance !!!!

Thanks for your response ! 97257A1 is a genuine Mercury part number for the sending unit. i think quick silver has the same part number . so 240-30 ohm temp gauge is what I am after ?

The gauges are generally 240-30 for North American boats, and 0-100 ohms for European. There are a few odd ones out there, however that is a generic temp sender
