Since I am using .......DUCKDUCKGO ..... as my alternate surf the web engine. I still have the old Chrome Google when I need their broader site listings.
I now have both of them with a Short Cut in my lower task bar. :)(y)

Refuse to use a Microsoft or Google web browser.

Went to Firefox long ago. Lots of free tools to block/limit cross site tracking and pop-up ads.

O K I had no idea that it was required to keep the site running. Good site.

I use Firefox as well.
Just reading this , I realize the incredible treasure in Boating information that is stored in this website. I believe that it should not be given away for free to some AI company as is possible right now. If this site is somehow protected and its information use rented to an AI company, we can have this site till kingdom come for free

Many years ago I was a moderator on a forum and had to deal with the "danged ads are ruining my day!" comments, too...and sadly many just didn't care. So we made it to where it cost a nominal fee annually.

Hard to grow a site like that since a lot of the value I've seen when searching both via google and on the site is from people who have few or no other posts and ask an odd question. You cut those people out and question wise feels like you lose maybe 25% of the value. I've always been a fan of the sites where you can pay a small subscription to get rid of ads. Make the site not usable with an ad blocker and from there allow paying to remove ads.
