I'm still looking for a test wheel for my 1995 Johnson 200hp. I can't even find a part number reference. Any help is appreciated.

What is the shallowest pitched aluminum prop you can find at a marine dealer that has been in business for decades and has a wall full of used props and a box full of thrust washers. How about a 4 blade aluminum of shallow pitch and you cut 2 opposing blades off at the root? Or more difficult, find a used 3 bade alum. and cut off the blades half way or so.....just make it a point to get the modification as even as possible.......one way of doing that would be to cut one blade in half and use it as a pattern for cutting the other two.

I've seen test wheels dealers used decades ago where they had a huge tank where they ran engines to full RPM to check performance after a repair. It was basically a disc of suitable diameter to fit the engine under test, with several slits around the circumference where the material was bent out to catch some water.

I would suggest you go to a boat dealer's service area and ask the manager for what you seek, or likewise at a repair shop. Faztbullet who posts on here regularly, is a shop owner and certified mechanic. Might "ping" him.

My test prop is the boat in the water. Tied to a dock for low enough power. Not to damage dock or boat.

Manufacturers' Test Wheels were of a known Load for the engines they fit, not likely to be attained by butchering a Prop.

Yeah, I'm not real thrilled with that idea. I just can't believe it's so hard to find the right one.

They really haven't been used much since the early 80s, as most shops acquired Dynos, which can vary the Load place on the Motor. Have you tried Evil Bay?

Yes, but I don't even have a part number to look for, if I search by outboard model number, it just shows all sorts of wheels, nothing specific.
