Indeed . Not knocking the Ruskies ( they probly know where I live😁 ) but I have seen some of the other stuff they eat .
There is a few beasts that have either become or always were a pita and it seem there is some emputus to consider them tasty......like them Asian carp that leap into boats and go for your throat , 'parently they now taste good and you lot should all be chowin down on them to get rid of them all . Lampreys in the Great lakes will be next , Micky Dee's will be puttin them in burgers😂
Oh yeah, those Russian are nice guys. I enjoy my conversations with them, at least the part I can understand. We have invasive snakeheads in some of our waterways here. Said to be very good eating. The powers that be suggest killing any you catch. I generally don’t keep fish, but when I latch into one of those I’m going to cook it and see.

I've heard they are good as well. And the Asian Carp is not boney like regular Carp. Andrew Zimmern did a show about them, from st luis.

Took my oldest Grandson out on my electric Jon boat today. He kicked some butt.

I love when the kids out fish me that's what it is all about. :)
How about it! I didn’t really fish much that day. Had the best day just watching him fish.
I’m due to take his younger brother out next. It’ll be tough to duplicate the quality and numbers we caught that day.

I find that when taking non or new fishers out one doesnt really have the time to fish with all the baiting and hook removal I have to do (oh yeah they will catch the fish ,eat the fish ....but touching it ...or the bait ......nah 😁)
I hope the younger one doesnt catch significantly more or less fish than the older one , neibours kids(5 & 7) fought for a week over wether more fish or the biggest fish proved who was the better fisherman last time they came out fishing 😁😁

These guys aren’t new to fishing. The better fisherman debate will go on till they are too old to fish.

When i became old enough to clean supper, it was 100% my job. Adults went inside to drink until supper.

Yep, took the grandkids to play and we just went to my spot that has shade in the afternoon, built a small fire roasted dogs and swam .

2 days ago I took my neighbor to our fishing hole just to show him around. I cast for about 20 minutes. It was ridiculously hot.

But, I hadn't been fishing for three months, so I was glad to go.

And now my right arm, shoulder and wrist are pretty painful. Old guy. 😏

A while ago I got to thinking about how many times I cast on an average foray down to the river and then I got to thinking about how sore my casting limb was after a couple of hours . More thinking and Im realising that with my fave trout rod ( Diawa Black widow 7gm 6'6" and Penn Conflict 2500 8lb braid and 6lb fluro leader ) I can easily cast the width of the river .....so I decided to go ultra light .....via Temu .
80 bucks nz got me a carbon fibre 6" rod , megga skinny , ceramic guides , the handle is only a 1 hand job , nice reel seat , and a 1000 size reel with 11 ball bearings ( havnt found them all yet ) , 4lb braid /3lb fluro . A 7 gram lure overpowers it to the point of being nearly useless but one of them new fangled soft baits @ 3 grams is bang on . This thing is so light I can flick it around with 2 fingers .
I have pulled a couple of 2-3 pounders in ( thats about it for size round here )and am happy with the set up.... and ...........where the hell was I ,
Oh yeah 😃 try some lighter gear.
