Mark, listen to Bob ... he has law enforcement experience and his wife trains the state police and sets policy in their state for women in violent situations. There is a lot of knowledge in his words on this subject.

A piece of paper will not stop an unwell violent person. This woman hit a cop last week, she will not respect a RO.

You are correct, it will not stop a crazed person. But it will give another tool to the law enforcement officer to protect your wife. Said crazed person can be arrested if she get close to your wife or property. And they can have a reason to keep an eye out for your wife at her home and on her travels until the courts can catch up to the actions.

Police response time is 30 plus minutes on a good day where I live. I am at the end of a private road that is not lit. My wife and I are our own if she comes to our home. The nut job got served this morning she can drop her kids off at school but can not get out of her vehicle. Hopping it dies down and don't want to provide my wife's name because her getting served again is going to do nothing but give the nut job a name.

I agree that taking the legal steps is a very good idea.

But also take physical precautionary steps. A piece of paper in a courthouse won't stop an actual attack. Happens all the time.

Stay safe. :sneaky:
Yeah thats the problem with restraining and trespass orders ..... nutbags usually dont care about them . They are a step in the process required to get troublemakers taken care of but I wouldnt be feeling any safer for having one .

The woman has 14 charges from the incident only one charge is tied to my wife, includes 4 other people so my wife is not the only one, that brings some relief. I think the administration did that because they realized they exposed a school employee to harm.

I've been reading this thread, without any real good advice to add in. Sorry to hear of it Mark. That's really tough to figure out. Feels like the innocent are the imprisoned.
