I am reworking my 18' CC and was wondering about the durability of bottom paint. The gelcoat is white and I have a spot or 2 to touch up as well as be removing all of the original decals from 1992.
I am a couple of months from doing anything but I like to research and ask questions.
Once I get a larger CC to leave at the coast, this will be a fresh water boat up here on our mountain lakes.

Opinion: Bottom paint has to be redone every 5 to 7 years in fresh water. Figure on it cost a 2K or so to remove/replace. Larger the boat the more it cost. A boat sitting in the water will build up with slime and puts a drag on the boat

A boat lift cost more in the beginning but will pay for it self in the long run and during resale
