5.x GX Parts Issues

Anyone having problems sourcing the rubber pre-formed hoses for the early 2000 Volvo Penta 5.x GXx? All of my regular on-line VP parts sources are out-of-stock and they say VP can't tell them when they will will ship citing a supply chain issue. All of my rubber coolant hoses are original (2001 date codes) so they are due for replacement ... don't you think? Is this a sign that VP is about ready to discontinue service for these engines?

Not necessarily,..... Sun rots rubber, motors rarely see sunlight,.....
Unless yer seeing cracking, or rot, they'll probably be just fine for a long time to come,....

I found that for all except the pump suction tubes, you can go here. https://www.gates.com/content/dam/d...ogs/gates-molded-coolant-hose-id-guide-en.pdf

if need be, you can get the stainless spiral hose liner for the suction hoses and you can prevent them from collapsing

Nice resource - unfortunately none of my VP part numbers cross ref to the Gates part numbers.

you have to measure the hose, then look at the pictures and match them up that way. Unfortunately there is no universal cross reference.
