I went over yesterday to check one of the local lakes, still locked up. Buddy drove past that same lake after a day on the river today, Guys were out ice fishing. Hit mid 50’s today. Won’t be long now till I’m out on the water.

I went fishing last weekend with a friend and my dad, good weekend I cought 5 decent bass over 3-4 pounds each, my dad as well but my buddy got to fish one over 8 pounds it was the largest bass I've seen in years, it was his ver first catch of the day in his very first casting, that was a lucky shot.

Yep , the fishing is even sweeter when you know everyone else is at work .😁
That’s what I thought when I retired. I’m constantly amazed at how many working age people seem to not work. More and more boat traffic every year on weekdays. Not like weekends but more than you’d think.

When I retired I thought I would fish all the time. I even live near a large lake with several smaller options nearby. I fished most weekends when I was working.

We have a decent amount of manufacturing and chicken plants so lots of night workers but they tend to shore fish. Weekdays on my lake its mostly old guys like me, maybe 70%. After the spring rush of course. Today is packed, 75 degrees right now to 34 or less by sunrise and the crappie have been slamming.

After we get this house sell/move done im on the lake every weekday. Ive spent last 45 days getting move in ready including some major foundation work, tomorrow is last coat of mud on the 12,486 cracks and flooring roughly two weeks during which time I'll be moving the small stuff and storing in the shed. After that, game on...

Same in my area, but we gave a number of large factories that employ second and third shift workers. We notice boats heading in around noon time so they can get to their 2nd shift job.
