Mine plugs into cig lighter/12v port in console, does everyone leave them plugged in when not using vehicle? My plug stays lit when car is off. Should I power cam off just with it's button when not in use or unplug from 12V port?

Don't leave it plugged in
Most vehicles these days have a 2 position fuse the the 12V outlet. Look into your owners manual and/or fuse box. The fuse location should have 3 female pins, where it is now is full time 12V. Pull the fuse and plug it back in using the same center pin and the outside pin it wasn't using
