I’m constantly amazed at how many working age people seem to not work. More and more boat traffic every year on weekdays.
Smart Phones….

Can’t count the numbers of times I “attended” conference calls and or Teams meeting from the boat or beach.

I had an Air Card for my laptop back In the Black Berry days. Just needed cell Service to be "in the office".

One of the highlights of my career was the day the National Park Service extended cell coverage out to my favorite beach front location.
Nothing like answering emails with sand under my toes, an umbrella over your my head and a cold one in a kozzie next to you.

Been know to do a little fishing in the process...lol

Yeah ,like being on a work call and hoping that I can bulls hit my way thru it ........untill the boss says " Hamish ( smee ) why can I hear seagulls in the background " ?
He was a good bloke ....rang me one day to query my fuel charges "your van has used more diesel than the distribution truck last month ....what gives ? ......easy , towed the boat 400kms most weekends ,and he was fine with that . Sometime later he rang to ask why I had only used 80 bucks worth of diesel for the month ....that was the month the outboard sucked a kumera and we didnt go fishing 😆.

Had a conference call every Monday morning with all the Sales Reps from around the world.

As Sales Managers, bossman expected us to call in from out of the office. It wasn’t until he and I were on a conference call with a customer that he started to catch on to me

Paused mid sentence several times during the call. Called me back 30 seconds after the call ended.
“Are you on the boat?”
Me…why do you say that?
“There was a funny, droning noise in the back ground. Sounded like a motor.”
Me…maybe

He knew I fished a lot the end of April into May but didn’t put two and two together.
Had a good laugh about closing the deal while “multi-tasking”…lol

😁Goes both ways , I see one of my workers vans somewhere he had no (work ) business being so I give him a ring and ask how the job ( the one he is miles away from 😁) is going ....and you can hear the hesitation as he's trying to figure out what I know , I tell him I will be there for a look in a couple of mins and hear the panic in his voice 😁

On Mondays I deliver meals to shut-ins in the area. There is one older gentleman who owns a farm that I was told was really cranky. Well, in a few months he has become one of my favorite deliveries and I always end up sitting and talking to him for quite a while.

Last Monday I asked him if there were any fish in his pond. He said, oh, years ago I put some fish in there, but I don't remember what kind. It hasn't been fished since my son moved away about 40 years ago. I wish someone would fish it and tell me what is in there. I just got a job to do ... now I need to carve out some time to try it. I have one week to get to it or it will have to wait till May since I will be out of the country the last half of this month. And I have to get the flooring project done at the house before I leave ... so much to do and so little time!

When I get there I will give a report ...

For those of you that tie the FG knot .....I find the final tying off all half hitches a fiddle ,what I have just pioneered is to suss which part of the line will be in the half hitches and then work a wee bit of UV resin glue into the braid , tie the half hitches....like only two, and then hit it with the UV light and trim tag off . Now I dont get the furry tag end and it wont come undone .
Ha ha , this comes about after the worst hour of my life last evening . I went to the river with two rods ,got a wind knot in the first cast ....spent 20 mins trying to untangle ,give up and got 2nd rod and 1st cast chucked it into the bush on tother side , yanked it free and started winding only to have the braid wrap around the drag knob ....instant tangle . Then I lost the butt end of the rod and reel off the back of the quad ( not taking out my frustrations on my quad and the gravel track.....man that thing can rev 😆😆) and then backed over the reel and broke the handle offa my Penn conflict 2500 , oh yeah ...the whole time I was trying to untangle the feckin trout were jumpin all over the place .😡🤬
I will be ok in a day or so 😃😁

This is down at Howells point , Riverton and we are pointing straight at Stewart Island....,.if anyone is interested . There is a small pile of rocks about a couple of k's straight ahead called Pig Island and thats where I usually head when fishing the briney instead of the river 🙂

I don’t think I have ever had braid do me that bad… even on the bait casters. Mono, on the other hand, sometimes likes to twist on the spinning reels and cause a problem.
