Hit the lake early 5:30 AM. One boat there before me launching. Was an older guy. Obviously moving slow but launched no problem. Two hours into my outing I was moving to another spot and hit something hard at 22 MPH in 20 feet of water. Decided to take out and take a look see. After I loaded up the old guy came in pulled his boat out. 16 foot wide aluminum Lund side console. I walked over and struck up a conversation. Came to find out he is 88 years old. Amazing he is still getting it done solo at that age. Guy fishes two three days a week. I found that to be a huge inspiration. Had a nice conversation about lakes we have both fished.
Only got one today but made a friend.

My boat was fine.

I guess at 66 I’m an old guy now, but that guy had 22 years on me.
Age is a number.....you're only as old as you act....

I turned 68 back in March. Mrs. Dingbat tells me all the time I'm too old to be doing that...lol.

I've slowed down a bit, but was in overdrive most my life. The worst part is finding someone my age to hang out with. Most my age are either "old" or have health issues.

Yeah , I have found myself thinking several times " I hope Im doing as well as that guy when I get to his age" and with that in mind I have been eating less and doing more physical stuff. My goal this winter is to be able to walk 1km on my tin leg without needing crutches .....I can get 400m with the crutches now .
😁 I have lost 12kg and now the bloody leg keeps falling off 😆.
