wet weight for the 2850 is claimed as 7500#-8000#. thats a lot of boat to get out of the hole with a single

the 6500# stated in post #8 would have been minimum fuel and gear as the dry weight is 5800# for a single engine which didnt include batteries, fuel, water, or oil in the engine.

you have a 160 gallon fuel tank and a 30 gallon water capacity.

that is 1091# for a full fuel tank and 240# worth of water. add batteries, engine oil, an anchor and line and you are easily pushing 7500#

you dont state if that is an SP280 or a DP280. if an SP, get a DP lower. Since you are talking 16x17 prop, thats pointing toward and SP

that is a lot of boat for a single prop, especially a SP280. PTT would help as that leg needs to be tucked in all the way to get it to start to climb out of the hole.

Most 2850's were twins.

I have to comment on your inclusion of this comment in your postings:
What’s behind you doesn’t matter.Enzo Ferrari Well it does especially if you are in a race and it's overtaking you! I think the world knew/knows what Enzo did for a living!
