2000 25hp Johnson 3 cylinder

What is this about. It was only running on 2 cylinders I think. I changed the coil yesterday with a used one I had. I have to test it out tomorrow night in the river.

Ok thx. So I tested it out tonight and it was fine for a while. Then I was trolling and it sounded different so I opened it up and same thing running on 2 cylinders again . It sounded like it was trying to fire on the way back but nope. So what would be blowing the coil. Would a bad wire do it?

blowing the coil..??? have you confirmed it is defective ??
what about other parts contributing to firing the plug....

power pack seems a fequent suspect... seems to be reacting to heat...after a while running.

if a shot of coolant spray restores fire you know it is heat sensitive maybe a few fiber washers will keep it away from engine heat ?
