The nut on the flywheel of this engine is supposed to be 1-5/16 based on eyeball measurment and literature. I have tried two different 6 point impact sockets and a 35mm 12 point socket and nothing has fit over the nut. Is there is special tool that is required and if so what is the part number.

Have you tried measuring the nut with calipers? It may be slightly oversized, damaged, or a different size than the manual lists. A 1-5/16” should be very close to 33.3mm, so a 35mm should normally have some play. Some flywheel nuts do require a thin-wall socket or a manufacturer-specific tool if clearance is tight. Check the exact engine model and serial number to confirm the correct socket/tool part number.

Do any of the omc stuff have left hand threads on the flywheel nut ? My Tohatsu did ...but the new crankshaft I got was right hand thread .....so I had to get the blimmin nut as well 😡just when I really didnt need another hold up 🙂
