Last night the boys wanted to fish while the dock light was on, we compromised we used Berkley catfish bait and fished the bottom. Kinda funny the other fish would not touch the stink bait but we pulled 14 bullheads out last night. Evening was capped by a big old snapping turtle swam right up to the dock the boys were quiet enough that it hung out for a while, they are so graceful in the water just gliding. The boys wanted to catch it I told them you don't want anything to do with that beast.

Boys were down fishing after lunch my grandson kept a couple small bluegill he wanted to feel the turtle, well we saw it again, threw 3 out, watched the snapper eat 2 of them. Nobody will want to swim off the dock.

Neighborhood boys came over to see the light last night, got the spear for them to get after the bullheads. They had a ball out there till 11:30 told come back anytime you want don't need an invite.

I have lived my whole life around water of some sort and some of my best memories are hanging out on the docks at night.

I achieved the Minnesotan dream of having a place my kids and grandkids call the lake. I will forever be grateful to the circumstances that got me my place.

It a blessing that we live close, and my daughter has the flexibility to bring the kids any day of the week. I get to work from home now so I am here unless I am traveling for work.

😁I dont have any kids and thusly no grandies but the neighbours kids came ( 3 and 6 yo boys ) over yesterday ...and undid all my puzzles , fought over wether their imminent sibling was going to be a boy or girl ,and over the free toys Di gets at the supermarket for them , left one shoe behind and took my cat home with them . 😁😁Life is good 🙄😆

Enjoy them while you can. They grow up quick.

My eldest daughter lives 6 hours away. Between the distance and my travel schedule at the time, we saw the grand kids once or twice a year as they were growing up.

Eldest grandson is now 34. Has a 14 yro daughter (my great grand daughter). Plays bass in a heavy metal band.

In contrast, middle daughter’s son turns 1 yro next month. The same day his aunt (eldest daughter) turns 50. They live a hour away so we’ll get a second chance. If I get lucky, I’ll see him graduate from high school

Yes they do, I am sure it will be like my parents place in Florida, grandkids aged out no longer had time to visit. I know when my kids started college they never went town to visit they were busy. Hopefully because this will be there place when we pass they can make some time.
