Now that my motor has been diagnosed (hopefully), I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 64 and live in North East North Carolina. Bought my first boat in 1981 or 2, it's been a while. I'm fishing out of a 1981 Ranger 335V. But you might have guessed that. It is not the first boat. That was a 13' aluminum boat affectionately known as the Yatch-Et. Primarily for white perch and catfish. My real passion is turkey hunting. I fish and hunt other things to fill in the gaps until spring.

Have not tried Turkey hunting, just watching KY Afield they show how it can be so easy and how it can be so hard.

In KY you can hunt Racoon, Ground Hog, Coyote can be hunted year round

Any good tip on cooking a wild turkey?
We have tons around here and I feed them as well so my hunting skills would only involve grabbing it by the neck. They will eat from
so its easy pickings.
They say the birds here are a cross breed of wild and domestic and some say they are pretty good eating. I may have to give one a try some day.

Welcome aboard

the two types of turkey hunting I am familiar with....

first type.... Dad hitting them with his truck and me pulling turkey bits from the grill and radiator

second type.... them eating around the bird feeder and having them 30 feet from the back door.

Slice the breast meat into strips or chunks. Marinate in lime juice and your favorite spice mixture. Use just enough lime juice to coat. Then toss in seasoned flour and or cornmeal and fry. Crockpot the legs and thighs, pick and shred the meat, and use for tacos or eat it on a sandwich like you would brisket.
