There is a dude on you tube called
Luke Mc Fadden , he has bought and tested quite a few Amazon outboards and that name sure is familiar 🙂

Yeah, he likes them, but he gets them for free.
I ordered a 40 Hp electric start power tilt and trim, 1900 USD.
add 500 shipping and tax still under 3k. Also heard it was a copy of an older
Yamaha that does not meet standards for EPA here anymore ? Sorry planet but a bargain is a bargain...maybe. Also I am promised to see it by august 27, ordered it beginning of June, so if someone is in a rush, no.

Well he says he pays for them .......
I dunno why anyone would be bothered about it not passing current epa regs when a quick scan of this site would show absolute butt load or posters still using 2 strokes . Call me cynical but every time manufacturers comply with new epa regs the epa will just tighten down some more rendering all the previous models non compliant for sale....but peeps are still using older models .
Argh , 😁having said all that Id rather wait and see how others got on with one before leaping in and buying one myself....but I kinda suspect that they will be ok . Probly the biggest neg would be the ribbing youd get from all them pious gits with established name brands.....like me 😁😁.
If its a basic copy of an older model Yamaha but with a crap quality finish ...why not ? I mean some peeps just dont give a crap what it looks like as long as it works ok .🙂

We used to paint our new engines on the clam boats flat black so they would not get stolen. It worked until the thieves figured it out !
Similar note , a friend of my Dads had a building company and was plagued by the theft of power tools.......untill he started buying budget ones ....😁

First, Luke probably does pay for them with the video money and he does mention when a company "sends " him something. My apologies to Luke.
Second, I could invest in some actual Yamaha stickers, lol ?

The Marine Doctor on YouTube services a fleet of them that were bought new by a rental place or something and a couple of them overheated and burned up. He figured out that it was a defect in a water passage. Fixable but they have to come apart before they burn up… but yeah also Luke Macfadden buys all his. Hes big enough into YouTube that the clicks pay for the product
