Hi again. On my 135hp 1973 Evinrude.<br /><br />Wrench tells me I have bad reeds, so I look into it. Here's what I found. Just one set of the reeds were damaged. They looked sprung, but when I took it apart this is what I saw! The metal is actually pushing the reed valve open! I can't imagine how this could have happened unless it just got super hot and melted the metal! Even so, why did it do it here! Thought you guys would enjoy seeing the pictures and maybe have some idea of how this happened! BTW, I do have low compression on the cylinder behind this set of reeds.
