Yesterday I changed the powerpack and coils on my 91 70 hp. Today I put it on the muffs and it would not start? Put the old Powerpack back on still won't start went to get the wife so she could turn the key and I could check for spark. She turned the key nothing!!!!! While telling her to stop turning the key I NOTICE THE KILL SWITCH LAYNARD IS OFF, I checked the compression yeseterday and I pulled it off.Put it back on. Now it started right up, repalced old powerpack with the new one and started righ up, I was freaked out I thought I had bought a 115.00 powerpack that was not good. All I remember seeing at the dealer was NO RETURN ON ELECTRIAL PARTS!!! Thought everyone might enjoy the Laugh !!!!!!

I did need a new pack cause old one kept going into slow mode some of the wires on it were very brittle, Just would not start after replacing it due to safety switch

NAH! When I bought my old Blazer 15 yrs. ago, first thing I did was put everything new in the distributor. STILL have that old coil and dis. cap in the console to this day. I just HAD to know the history of the electrics. May never need it but its there if I do. Good way to look at that too like JCLarke says.

I know a guy who boated for years, and forgot to put the plug in his bass boat in Lake Erie, darn near sank it, we all had a good laugh on his behalf.

2 weeks ago I dropped my boat on the launch ramp! Just a few scuff marks on the hull, but boy did I feel like a first class arse....

Heck... I was backing mine up down the ramp. Wife was sick and could talk loud so I had a hard time hearin her telling me to stop. Ended up droppin the trailer off the side of the ramp... only about a 1 1/2 foot drop.......oops... in fact almost sure the tire on that side was'nt touchin ground. eh...it was on a lake I wasn't used to. Least it was dark and no one was around...lol Crap happens least I didn't bend the axle or loose the boat.

I had a customer pick up his boat and was going to take his grandkids fishing. He drove from Ft Worth to Lake Texoma(about 110 miles). Put it in the lake and it wouldn't start. Loaded it up and drove another 110 miles back to the shop. Pulled in just ranting and raving about how about how much he spent to get this out of the shop and it won't even start. Went out to the boat and reattached the stop lanyard that his grandson pulled off. Away he went, after apologizing, for another 110 mile ride. Remembering to "Always check the stop lanyard".

Papasmurf......Did you tell your custmer to put boxing gloves on that young lad....Grin<br /><br />Thats uh good one I have to say.<br /><br />I heard a story once (which by the way I never really beleived)<br /><br />About this guy who after cruesing around the lake in never ending crycles and never able to get on plane.<br /><br />After some time of this he is spoted dead in the water by another boater who stops to lend a helping hand.<br /><br />Boater with problem explains he just bought his boat and couldnt figure out why it didnt have the power it should have.<br /><br />Helping hand upon inspection noticed a tie down strap still across his stern.<br /> <br />Further investigation pointed out that....................New boater was "STILL" straped to the trailer.

Once upon a time!<br /><br />True story, back about 20 years ago my fishin and drinkin buddy and I were comeing in to the ramp after a fun filled day of haveing fun and getting really "full".<br /><br />I told my buddy Joe to go get the truck and backer in the water and I would just drive onto the trailer, and he could pull me back onto dry land.<br /><br />I had a little flat bottomed jon boat at the time with a little 15 horse Johnson on it. The trailer was just a flat bunk type with no side rails.<br /><br />I drove onto trailer...sorta....and sorta not. Welt I give Joe the high ho sign and pulleed me up into the parking lot.<br /><br />Where their was at least 50 people standing around doing whatever people do at boat ramps.<br /><br />Joe stops the truck when he hears uh rather LOUD and disterbing sound comein from behind.<br /><br />That was me.... my little boat and motor, gas tank, fishing tackle, at least 30 empty beer cans<br /><br />As we all went arse over tea kettle onto the parking lot.<br /><br />Yep tiped rite over....In front of God and everbody....Everbody had uh good laugh.....I hope God did to.<br /><br />I know Joe shore as hell did!

It usually only takes one kill switch episode to make it the first thing you check (after the drain plug) My buddy and I went duck hunting and I started pulling on the cord of my 25...pulled and pulled till I thought I was having a rightside stroke...cramped up from my shoulder down to my toe and sopping wet with sweat in 15 degree weather. He used the oar to start us to the blind. After 20 minutes of pulling the spark plug to taking the fuell filter off to pulling it without gas cause it just HAD to be flooded..I noticed the kill switch was off..flipped it back up and motored the 30 feet left to the blind. We didn't get a shot that day either.
