I have a 79 115 i6 that I recently replaced the engine block with a 84 block. During breakin the stator died which I am replacing. My question is the stator wires blue/wh red/wh are connected to the lower switch box instead of the top box as the diagram shows. They are in a yellow sleeve which is shown to be at the lower box. Is this correct? V6 diagrams show blue/wh red/wh in a yellow sleeve. Could the stator have come from a v6 and if so would it cause any problems. My replacement stator has no yellow sleeves and I am unsure if it would matter if the blue red wires can be connected to upper or lower switch box as long as the trigger wires in yellow sleeve also attach to same box as y sleeved stator wires. Thanks for any input. Also this boat will be in saltwater primarily and after thoroughly flushing engine with water and "saltaway" would final minutes of flushing w/green antifreeze and water help coat the coolant passages and help with corrosion buildup? My old block rotted in the coolant passages after sitting for a couple years requiring block replacement. Thanks sollywopp
