    After a closer look, the larger bubbles shown on the port side seem to be normal...the smaller bubbles shown on the starboard side seem to be seeping through the gasket. I'm going to change oil to see if it shows any water in it. I assume if there's a leak it would.

    That is a linear actuator...the bracket are the the original evinrude brackets that came with the Prestolite tilt that i replaced. Read my first thread when i was looking for parts for it.

    So this tilt is out dated, and damaged it when taking is apart. Had i went at it using my head i could have saved it. Something new to replace it, like a CMC or Panther was $600 to $1000. I didn't want to pay that price. I started looking around and came across a 12v mechanical drive actuator...

    Broke powerhead bolt

    I torqued them to 10 ft lbs, then 15...and was trying to go to 20. None got to 20 and after I broke one I stopped. I wish I had bought new bolts, but the were like $9 each on boats dot net. I should have gone to a bolts supplier.

    I would also like to know how to pull the powerhead out. It will need to be in order to drill out the bolt if necessary. I see two bots inside the cowling holding the powerhead, are there bolts below also? Does the lower unit need to be removed? I have a manual but don't see anything about this

    1983 evinrude 35hp. It the one point to or the one above marked 2. It raining right now so I can't verify at the moment.

    I replaced powerhead gasket and when torguing down bolts I broke one. Will be OK to run engine like that. I assume it will blow gasket at that position.
