    Lower Unit Bearing Carrier Bolt Torque

    My 1991 OMC Cobra manual shows two 5/16" bolts with retainer tabs in the front of the bearing carrier. Problem is my lower unit is a 1990 model with four 1/4" bolts in the back of the bearing carrier. Can someone tell me the proper torque for the four 1/4" bolts.

    The tag on my stern reads as follows: Model # 986698 Eng. 4.3L Serial # T0739078 According to the previous owner, this is not the same one that came on the boat. Based on the model # how do I determine what make it is?
