I have a 1999 Triton tr19 and during recent heavy rain my cover failed and my drain became plugged too allowing the boat to flood. Does anyone know whether this specific model used open or closed cell flotation foam?
I haven't completely tore it down yet to see what exactly went wrong. I've got the lower unit pulled just gotta finish digging deeper in. Lots of metal in the gear oil. We were running down the lake when the engine suddenly started shaking violently and making a grinding/tapping noise from below...
What other year and hp lower units would be compatible with this engine? I'm seeing conflicting information on a couple sights and just wanted to verify to make sure I don't get one that won't work.
It's water cooled. I found some info on the code 49, it seems to be common with that motor and is a non-issue. One of the first things I did after this started was to replace the fuel water seperator, fuel filter and primer bulb just to see if maybe it was something as simple as that...
When it happens, it happens without warning, no check engine lights, no alarms nothing. What really puzzles me is the fact that after dying it doesn't want to start back up unless I trim the motor up.
It's not, I should have mentioned that I checked that also. Its getting good flow through it. If the emm were overheating it would have a cooldown period before the motor would start back up wouldn't it?
My 1999 175 hp ficht has recently developed an issue where on a long run it will shut off at w.o.t. After it shuts off, I have to trim it up to get it to start back up. When I do this, it starts back up immediately with no hesitation. Other than this issue the motor runs amazingly. I thought it...
I have a 1999 Ficht 175hp that cranks up and runs perfectly. I can run it as far as I want with no issues. The problem arises when I stop for 10 or more minutes to fish, when I try to start the engine afterward it acts as if it is flooded and doesn't want to start. If I turn the key in short...
My 1979 mercury v175 has recently developed an issue where the motor is intermittently going up when i hit the down switch. Sometimes it will start going up then make a sound like it is in a bind and start going down as it should. Has anyone else had this problem? What could make the trim...
I've replaced the impeller on this motor and still am not getting any water from the tell tale. I unhooked the water lines from the back of the thermostats and water is flowing through them and from the valve up top where the water pressure gauge would connect but nothing from the tell tale...
