That’s what I ended up doing this morning, all connections look good and when I’ve got it all back together it fired up, so maybe oxidation, who knows, I’m taking the win and taking the boat out tomorrow
Yeah, I dont think its a power issue, I think I just need to figure out which wires need to be connected. I thought it was bl/r, w/r, and Br, but i was advised not to connect bl/r to power. So we shall see what actual manual has to say.
Replaced the solenoid, but did not solve the problem. Connecting w/r and brown still doesnt crank. Ive been working off a suzuki manual bc its a rebadged 2004 johnson, but I guess I’ll need to chase down a johnson manual
I have a 2004 Johnson (aka rebadged suzuki) 15 hp with electric start. I have the attached diagram which seems to indicate that jumping w/r and br would give juice to the starter, but it does not.
I replaced the starter solenoid. the neutral safety switch and fuse seem good.
Any inout...
Neutral safety and fuse check out, which I believe leaves only the starter solenoid as the issue. Hopefully connecting new solenoid will allow start from jumping w/r and brown. Thanks again for your help
Ill check that in the morning, if it is the solenoid do you think this would cut it?

Face/palm… of course its probably a bad starter solenoid. I jumped the solenoid terminals and the starter cranked… i already attempted jumping across bl/r so hopefull I didn't do any damage. Thanks for the input.
Looking at the attached wiring diagram, it looks like I should get the starter engaged by connecting bl/r, w/r, and Br. The neutral switch is in a good position and the kill switch is in the off position(ie motor can run). However the starter does not engage when I jump those three wires...
