    Hour meter not lighing up.

2005 Chap 220ssi with volvo 5.0gxi. All the gauges work, with the exception of the hour meter. I am trying to sell the boat, and not knowing the hours is causing issues. Gauge, or sender? is there any other way to read it? Thanks in advance.

Overheating issues. symptoms, and proposed solution. please advise.

2005 chap with Volvo Penta GXi 5.0L engine. The last outing we had, after a good while of no wake speed, i noticed my temp gauge creeping up to the 250 point. it never got that high, but it was hovering just below. I pulled up to the gas dock, and popped the cover, nothing seemed amiss, and...

please teach me about closed cooling systems

I run 100% salt water, and i know its hard on the engine, even with regular flushings. I was under the influence that a closed system required hull modification for the heat exchanger, but have recently found this is not the case, so it looks like something i could install myself. I have a...

ok so here is the deal. I trailer, so i remove the plug after each use and leave it out until the next outing. i currently use a cheapo crescent wrench to do the plug. My trailer has a flip up roller system, and the last roller is out past the plug a bit, causing issues when using a large...

    ideas for throwable storage.

the last time i got a visit by the CG, they said my throwable had to be out and accessible. I had it just inside the helm storage door. Im afraid it will blow out, and i dont want the missus to have to hold it all the time. My last boat, i could slide it up in the gunwall storage, but this...

I finally got it started by easing it into reverse right as it tried to hit, essentially revving it up. the Volvo throttle doesnt have the button to shift to neutral...
