    hp ratings at prop, what year ?

    is my 1985 3.0L rated 140 HP at flywheel or at prop ? anyone knows excatly what year they started rating engines at the prop ? wonder how many hp are lost in outdrive ?

    trim motor removal

    I hope to have the correct terms ..... my trim solenoids work (clicking sound on both ) ...but the motor doesnt turn ....boat stored for 4 years ... probably as my starter : corrosion ( cleaned : works) dont want to do a mess.....do I just remove the top 4 bolts, and pull it up from trim pump...

    delco or prestolite distributor

    I have a 1984 doral 164 with a mercruiser 3.0L with alpha 1 outdrive . my concern for now is : I`m looking for distributor parts ... is the distributor a prestolite or delco ? all my searches ask me this question .....how can I know which is on my engine ?

    change fuel line

    bought a new water separator , new fuel filter .... noticed that my fuel line is in a sad state ..... bought 12 ft of new 3/8 " fuel hose .... what is the best way to change this..... unplug from the gas tank and try to tape the new one and pull on it .... any advice , it's a doral 164...

    rotten wire in outdrive

    bought a 1985 doral 164 with a 140HP mercruiser 3.0L and outdrive .... engine block is cracked from not being drained for winter .... I already have the replacement engine on hand ..... when i pulled the engine out , i noticed that there is two double wires coming out of the outdrive .one...
