I have a new to me 2000 150. Runs good, everything looks to be working with the 4 light tach gauge and alarm.
I took an old temp gauge from a 140 evinrude. the gauge shows that the TEMP. goes up the faster I go. When I slow back to idle the temp goes back down.

Hey everyone, got a question about Timing. I am missing the sticker on the air box for the timing degree number.
The motor is a 1985 but check the part numbers on the ignition components they are for a 1986 -1987 model.
I have read it is from 19 deg. to 22deg...
the first sign was the tachometer stopped working a few years ago. used/ran the motor all season - runs great, starts right up, idles nice, no cough or sneeze. just a slight stumble at full throttle. never a problem charging the battery. then after a long day idling the motor started to lose...

so I took 15 min to layout the screw locations 2" from the edge every 4" then 6" on the inside... the one picture shows why you should pre-drill... I hope to glue in the morning... mark & trim the top after the glue tries...

so glad I posted on iboats before cutting...
the end of the tape is a transition...
so my best bet is to cut around 15-16 inches? middle of teak aft screws?

so my 1985 j140tlcos has a octane ratinig of 88 sticker on it... is 87 octane ok to use? or will i notice a decrease in performance? motor idles with out a cough or a sneeze on 87... smooth for a looper...

hi, I have a 1985 J140 TLCO
can 1/4 I.D. auto store fuel line be used to replace my VRO oil line from primer bulb to front of motor? or do i need a special oil line from a dealer?

i was hoping some one here could answer my questions on vacuum lines.
would a small vacuum line CRACK cause my 1985 140 johnson run out of fuel and stall, but idle fine?
also i broke the vacuum line T with an arrow on it behind the VRO where could i get a replacement?
