    Ayuh,....... It's got nothing to do with rust, those were junk the day they were brand new,...... They quit making them for a reason, core shifting, during the casting process,.... Yer idea of drilling them is even dumber than not replacing then now, before they fail, which they will do...

    Ayuh,..... I'd think 140* at idle on the muffs,..... Until you find the rest of the shredded bits, yer going to have problems,... How beat up was the housing when you changed the impeller,..?? Any gouges,..?? ridges,..?? grooves,..?? It has to be in perfect condition to work right,.....

    Ayuh,...... Have you run the motor yet,..?? If not, do so, then test the compression,..... If the test is the same, pressurize the cylinders with compressed air, at each cylinder's Tdc, 'n listen for where it's leaking,..... Intake valves will hiss through the carb, exhaust valves...

    Ayuh,..... Some are, 'n some aren't,...... depends on the vintage,... The 305, 'n 350 are neutral balanced,.....

    Ayuh,...... That depends,..... need the right starter bolt holes, but I believe which ever flywheel it has, the full bobtail motor will swap regardless,..... 'n the 4.3l flywheel is of a different balance,.....
