    Bayliner 175 to 170 conversion

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. There's like 10 of them for sale here. No one wants inboard/outboard.

    Bayliner 175 to 170 conversion

It's been for sale for 4 months. No offers. I cannot let it sit and rot so I have to do something with it.

    Bayliner 175 to 170 conversion

I am looking for someone that has a Bayliner 170 that can give me the measurements of the engine well. From the Bayliner website these are the exact same boat with different engines. I plan on converting my 175 to the 170 as I love the boat, just not what's powering it.

I know this will sound foolish, but hear me out please

The boat selling season hasn't started yet where I am. We still have temps of 8-9 degrees Celsius. Also I'm not looking to profit, I have the boat listed at $6000 less than was paid for it now in exactly the same condition I might add.

I know this will sound foolish, but hear me out please

The boat has been for sale for almost a month. There have been 2 inquiries, one where a guy asked me to trade for a Segway. They don't sell well in this area, there perhaps 10 of them on the local classifieds. The vast majority is salt water and as such everyone wants an outboard engine. I have...

All valid concerns. The swim platform i would completely remove. The transom would need some serious reinforcement for sure. If the handling changes that would be a real bummer. Do you think it would be worse or better? The center console part is really a pipe dream, but the center locker would...

I know this will sound foolish, but hear me out please

So I have a 2013 Bayliner 175. My wife bought it for me for my birthday 5 or 6 years ago. It's a beautiful boat, but it has always been hiccupy. So I'm sitting here with an idea, albeit a very foolish one maybe. See I never wanted an I/o boat, but how could I say no when it was bought as a...

    Back again

It's almost always inside of the bay. It would be the very odd trip outside as we call it. The weather would have to be pristine, and the next stop would be Spain if anything happened lol. Our sea ray was 19.5 long and handled really well with a mild swell, but it was 2500 lbs as well. Looking...

    Back again

Well had a chance to go view the boat today. It's a very nice boat, but what caught my eye was on the showroom floor, a 2013 bayliner 175 with 133 hours on it. Asking about it, I was informed we could get it for $14000, the way it was. That's Canadian dollars I should ad. Now it didn't include a...

Yes after researching for a little bit I think flushing is the best option.

    Back again

A thought just occurred to me, how hard is it to close the cooling system on in I/o. I know there's a kit to buy, but are there any troubles with them as well? Looks like I have more research not do. Ugh.

That definitely makes life easier haha. But like mentioned, the majority is salt water use. My mind still isn't made up though. It's a hard decision really.

    Back again

That was the main thing that Rick and bondo were helping me with on the sea ray. The carbs and timing. I know my way around those things, but I'm glad for the days of fuel injection as well. Yes the 91 sea ray was a simpler boat for sure, and I was thinking of purchasing an older boat, but iny...

    Back again

No doubt. The exhaust parts alone are the price of another boat. As I've aged, I think I prefer simplicity. Ofcourse the engines are simple in I/o, but not as simple as removing the outboard and placing another one.

    Back again

This is the biggest reason the wife likes the I/o. The full rear swim platform. She thinks the outboard engine makes the boat look funny. I really don't think I will have any trouble maintaining or replacing parts on either, but I am unsure if I have the back and patience for it anymore on the...
