I'm running the the 77 on my boat currently. I had a 78 but water got in it and it seized. Made a flywheel puller with a 6' handle and it wouldn't break free so parts motor. Both feet are good and was wondering if I should hold on to the 78 foot or try and find it a new home?
I have 2 lower units one is off a 77 85hp. and the other from a 78 85hp. I've dry fitted the 78 to my 77 and everything looks like it would bolt up perfect. Was wondering if the ratios are the same or different? And are they interchangeable?
I removed the vernatherm housing and guts to clean it. My problem is that the only way i see to put it all back together is to pull the powerhead and cowling so you can get it in. I got the housing on but i couldn't get it to go on with parts in it. The cowling is in the way. Anyone have any...
