    Ignition issues

Yes everything works, if I touch the hot wire to the bottom of the solenoid. I know the fuse isn’t broken because when I plug in a different set of controls it cranks, but when I try to plug in my new ignition, connected to a new red wire, nothing. No clicks, no primer, nothing. I am plugging...

Excuse my ignorance, I am trying my best to learn the ins and outs of my boat to learn and help others. I currently have 3 boats, and for the life of me cannot figure out ignition switches and what I’m doing wrong. I have an extra set of controls I bought off eBay; and was able to confirm the...

    Help with installing throttle cables

It has a metal peice that has one screw at the front, and the back cable can have a bolt put on to secure it. But the front peice is just hooked on the a little metal tab. If...

    No crank!?! Electric issue??

I went to the store to get a new multi meter, I clicked the positive on the small positive side of solenoid, negative on the negative, and the solenoid clicked. Then magically the key started working again. Not sure if god was just on my side but the electric start works now, I’m sure it was...

    No crank!?! Electric issue??

Replaced the fuse, and the motor cranked for like 1 second. Not super confident in the fuse because I pulled it from an old motor. Going to go pickup a newer multimeter and see what’s going on

    No crank!?! Electric issue??

Going to try. I have watched so many videos and I’ve never felt so stupid trying to use a tool. Give me an engine that the electric is working, I’ll get it running. That’s about it.

Slow start?? New battery, cables, starter, solenoid

Starter spins hot and fast when bench testing and with the spark plugs removed

Slow start?? New battery, cables, starter, solenoid

I dropped the lower unit, and the motor is still not spinning. I am bypassing everything and starting it directly to the starter with a fresh battery: It will spin but very very slowly. (Almost like “clank clank clank clank” it almost feels like TO much compression. I haven’t done a compression...
