Today we tried to go for a spin i the delta on our 2007 Larson 274 with a 496 Volvo Penta engine.
We had the boat serviced last year with a rebuilt outdrive ($2700) and anything else it needed. To our surprise, it would not even attempt to get up on a plane, just bogged down, Didn't die.
It...
I can't decide if Facebook marketplace or craigslist has more scams, but both are full of them. Then just assume (if you can get a real person on the phone) the seller is lying about everything, and you will be pretty close to the truth. Then take measures to try not to be robbed or shot.
That...
Btw, keeping track of which wire or cable goes where is not as easy as I thought. I had one wrong. I figured it out today. I keep telling myself I will remember, right. Even photos aren't much help, the angle you need is always the one you didn't get.
I'm going to zip tie the four groups...
You may also think about stopping. Towing capacity of a vehicle includes braking power, tire size and 2 or 4 wheel drive. Also boat trailers have brakes, some drum, some disc. Some even work, as they are not always serviced by owners.
After reading up on batteries, today I bought two new batteries and changed them myself, not an easy job. Now it starts right up on position 1 or 2. Yes!
The po had installed group 24, I got group 27 (higher cca) and it cranks much faster. This is a 8.1 engine. I'm not sure if bigger batteries...
Thanks for all the replies so far.
When I bought the boat, the po said to turn off the batteries each time I leave the boat and plug in to shore power. Today I talked to a Volvo Penta mechanic who said to leave the Perko switch on "both" to charge both batteries. So, I went out to the boat and...
My 2007 Larson 274 Cabrio has a strange electrical gremlin that just blows my mind when troubleshooting, so perhaps someone could take a stab at the next logical step.
It will start right up with the Perko switch on both or #2, but just clicks like a dead battery on #1. Both batteries were new...
Fuel pressure regulator has a hole in the diaphragm, let's in fuel causing a rich condition.
Runs fine at high rpm.
I chased a similar condition on a car for a very long time. Hope that solves your problem.
My wife of 40 years is my copilot, and we launch and retrieve like a well oiled machine. Her suggestion, use the floor mats on the ramp if all else fails her dad taught her that. Never tried it myself, but it sounds like it would work
I had steel poles welded to square stock welded to the trailer frame, and schedule 40 pvc with end caps slide over that, just brush painted the metal.
Cost under $300 total . My ramp is crossways to the tide and wind, very strong at times, steep, sometimes in opposing directions. The pvc is...
I got a 32 inch tv to replace my tiny original tv, and was surprised to find it used the same mounting bracket (that mounts to the back of the tv) as the original. Just pull straight up real hard and it slides out of the v shaped bracket mounted to the wall.
I had to mount the wall bracket 2...
I would be more concerned with a tire blow out in this heat unless the tires are brand new. A double axle trailer puts a lot of weight on one tire in some situations. I just had two tires on the same side blow out within a few miles on what I thought were ok tires only 3 years old. They were 10...
