    Do the striped wires need to be connected? Purple from controller and Black in the boat. This is the controller they put on all trackers.

    Check Crowley Marine. Are you sure its not the 3000 that you have. Had many issues with mine. If u do have the 4000. Which way do the wires from the kill switch come out of the box looking from behind the unit. From the top or bottom? Mine come from top and it appears they installed the switch...
