Greetings help with controls

I have a 1988 BassBuggy pontoonvwith a mariner 40hp. The control box seems to be bad, parts broken inside the motor says 40 ELO code 609 L serial 430060.
Can anyone tell me what control box I could buy, or if they make a kit to fix the internals?

Is that a 1975 2 cylinder motor?

If the motor is 1996 or older, generally any Mercury or universal control will fit. Your current control looks to be a universal panel mount one.
