So these little things are expensive. I found a whole set on ebay for my drive for 40 bucks. The thing is it says they are aluminum instead of zinc, is aluminum too hard? I thought the drive was aluminum if so that would defeat what the annodes do.
I have a 5.7 260 mercruiser and my service manual states to use single weight oil like 40w. Just about any oil I find is multi viscosity wether labeled boat or car.
I would really like to use Mobile 1 Gm engines generally use 5W 30 would this be ok?
Upon separating the upper and lower stern drive Alpha 1 early (1985). I find that I need to replace one of the studs and nuts that hold the two halves together, and the hex bolt at the rear of the drive that hold the fin shaped annode and the two halves together.
Anyone know who has em?
In the process of changing the water pump assembly on an Alpha 1 ist gen.
Couple questions, the water pump kit cam with more o-rings and gaskets than I removed from the set up. What are these for?
Second the impeller is larger than the pump housing is that the way it supposed to be...
Have a Alpha 1 second gen with a mercruiser 5.7. Apparantly the outdrive is not sucking water up to the motor to cool it. What should I be looking for?
