    Mercury V6 Head part numbers

Hey guys, I found two sets of mercury v6 heads, the two piece style from the 70's / 80's. Can anyone tell what HP they were used on? The number on one set is 96422, the other is 96531. I can't find a website that shows NLA part numbers, if anyone knows a good site please please post a link. Thanks

Is switching to Aftermarket reeds worth it?

I have a 1988 Mercury 200hp carb V6, she idles a little rough and I currently have her on a Hydrostream ski boat. It was suggested to me to try high performance reeds, that the back in the day all these Merc guys were putting in Boyesen reeds for better performance... anyone here have any...

Yet another V6 Merc question: voltage regulator?

This Franken Merc I have doesn’t have a voltage regulator on it. The best I can tell it’s a mid eighties xr2 block and whoever rebuilt it put all new aftermarket electronics on, stator, switch boxes, rectifier…but no voltage regulator. I’ve been running it for a few weeks now with no...

    1987 Merc 200 V6 blowing fuse

Turns out it was a simple dumb goof on my part, when I pulled the carbs I had to disconnect the primer solenoid and when I put everything back on, I put the yelo/black & yelo wires on the post that actually screws into the motor...oops! another senior moment.

1982 7.5 hp Johnson compression numbers?

Finally some positive results...I hooked up a tiny tach and discovered that the throttle linkage is set too far and going beyond wot. After finding wot if recorded 4700 rpms with the hood on...but gained 200-300 rpms with it off, I guess I need to find a GT 7.5 hood with louvers vents like a GT...

Need help identifying old Merc carb

Off of an old V-6, part #1374-5427-c (or is that a casting number?) and WH. It also has 41-11468 stamped on it. Trying to see model/year/hp it's off of, thanks.
