I have a 1988 merc 150xr4 that sounds like its skipping a little in a no wake zone and when I get on it it takes forever to get going and to plane out, its been sitting up for a while too, ive checked the spark on all cylinders and its getting fire so could it be fuel? thanks

engine rpm range is 5400
i have no problem getting to 5400 rpm but i don't feel like i'm going the speed i should be getting.
i clocked it at 57mph on the river going down wind at about 5400 to 5600 rpm.

Previously when I hit the switch I could hear the pump start but it didn't move, now after doing extensive work on my engine it won't do anything so I'm lost and don't know where to start. Already tried to trace wires to no evail, please help.

i have a 1988 ranger 374v with three fuel tanks.
two in the stern and one under the bench passenger seats.
what would it hurt and how hard would it be to remove the one under the seats to make room for more storage compartments?

i guess my indicator is not long enough, my question is when i hit tdc how far counter clockwise do i turn it to get it btdc.

i have a 1988 ranger 374v that has been really really really mistreated lol, this thing has been left outside just about its entire life and i want to get some of the shine back to her, its just really faded bad but it looks like if i knew what to do with it i could make it slick and shine...
i have been having this problem since the first of the year,
1. carbs cleaned
2. new stator
3. new trigger
4. fuel pump has been re-done
5. damaged reed re-placed
6. lync n sync done
did ohms test on trigger and stator, trigger checked out by factory specs, no reading at all on stator, timing...
i clocked my boat at 58mph at 5400 rpm, can i get anymore speed from it if i change pitch or # of blades? 5500 to 5600 rpm is about the max for my motor. thanks
