Sorry for the delay, boat lovers
After getting the boat to do as it was told I tried it on the water and it just needed a slight tweak. Then the Range Rover went into limp mode on the way home. It’s still waiting for a new part.
Maybe I’ll get on the Caledonian canal next year
Watch this space 😛
Whooohooo it didn’t sink when I put it in and it set off normally in forward but cut out if slowly moved into reverse. Minor adjustment required me thinks. Scotland awaits 😜

Thanks so much Chris for your help I’ve ordered the interrupt plate and have got forward neutral and reverse so it’s a water test now to check for leaks after replacing the bellows and gimbal bearing let’s hope all is well

Morning Chris
Thanks again for putting me right I have been thinking it was a Gen 1 but as you say it must be a Gen 2.
I’ve just reassembled the gearbox and set the cables using Google with 6” measurements and the like and I’ve got to put boat on the water to check it’s all working properly. I...
Hi there boat lovers
I’m getting the idea that my shift interrupt switch is causing my stiff gear change but my old interrupt switch has two switches and the new one only has the one. Will this work and what do I do with the spare wires from the unused switch?
Cheers 🍻 Dave
Thanks for that info Alldodge I’m going to persevere to stick the little rascal on again, but if it pops off again, I take it my boat isn’t going to sink?
Best regards

Hi there Boat lovers
Is the exhaust bellow required. I’m having a nightmare trying to fit it. As I get the gimbal bellow on the exhaust bellow pops off and vice versa. I’m going to try glue tomorrow. See if that helps

Moving on with my repair I have split and drawn off the gearbox and slackened the bellows before removing the swivel from the gimbal the section of the large bellow shows it was badly fitted. This has left the universal joint rusty but as it uses sealed bearings I think it’s survived. Not like...
Hi here boat lovers
My Sea Ray 220 has a 5 litre MRI fitted to a Alpha1 drive
I’ve recently bitten the bullet and removed the stern drive in order to change the bellows as my boats bilge pump has been operating every 10 minutes.
Has anyone had issues with water in the prop-shaft bellows. All...
