Last fall
Tach was erratic and then stopped working completely. Voltage gauge was showing 16 to 19 volts at 3/4 throttle..
Replaced Reg/Rec (New CDI brand)
Engine started fine and ran well.
Now
Tach works but shows 7000 RPMs at half throttle and 1500 at idle.

Reinstalling stator after doing some engine repair. Manual says to use new "Patch Lock Screws." They seem to be unavailable, part number (0512321). Will replacing them with Loctite Thread Locker 242 (blue Loctite) serve the purpose? Anyone know of a downside to Loctite?

Getting ready to replace regulator/rectifier due to high voltage readings (17+volts at mid throttle) and erratic tach. Noticed stator coils seem pretty dark. Will know more after I pull flywheel and stator to remove reg/rec. Anyone have an opinion on stator. Engine runs fine.

Just wondering what a water pressure gauge should read. This is my first boat with a water pressure gauge. Presently it reads about 3 psi @ idle and about 12 psi @ 4500 rpms.
I have some Evinrude Carbon Gaurd and Evinrude 2+4 fuel treatment. It is about 7 years old. The bottles have never been opened and they have been stored in a cool basement away from light. Does this stuff ever go bad or is it still safe to use.

I have the lower unit removed for water pump impeller replacement. On the shift rod is a rubber grommet. Does the metal side of the grommet go up or down?

Have not had this boat on the water yet.
With the engine running on the hose adapter the engine iidles about 1200 RPMs. Is this a little high or will it slow down once in rhe water. I can't hardly start it with the warm up lever up due to the even higher RPMs.
