Thank you. I just started it by holding the carb flapper slightly open. Like it needs a bit of air to start. I might have the throttle arm out of adjustment? Was trying to adjust by extending the turnbuckle to slightly open the flapper. It starts then, but something must be off?

As far as I understand the system, the stator and voltage regulator/rectifier is supposed to charge the battery with a higher voltage. The vom shows the battery at 12.5vdc when not running and the same when the motor is running. Am I missing something?

The 'right spot' I assume is neutral? I had it in neutral after removing the lower unit the 2nd time, but after reinstalling and running the motor it wouldn't turn the prop when I shifted into fwd or rev?? Thanks again for your patience!
