you are correct, i was able to get it apart after a couple hours research. putting it back together was much easier. i guess tome will tell. there is very little info on the motors with the kill/idle adjustment on the end of the tiller handle. once you get the grip loose the idle knob has to be...
could not turn the throttle twist grip, i found where the problem was, it was the twist grip itself. dry as a popcorn fart. now i have other problems. did i mention i wasn't a outboard mechanic. well i popped the grip loose and it slid 2/3 of the way off but the idle control on the end of the...
update, i found where the problem was, it was the twist grip itself. dry as a popcorn fart. now i have other problems. did i mention i wasn't a outboard mechanic. well i popped the grip loose and it slid 2/3 of the way off but the idle control on the end of the tiller stops it. also the small...
little offender is in the middle of having the cowl painted, someone got wild and crazy with primer. i love these motors and when i get it in operating condition i may just convert it to a 35 as the boat is rated for 40 hp. finding the parts may be another story. have to decide on getting a...
yip, that was why the carb linkage wasn't working. that said the tiller twist grip still can't be turned without using the throttle for a remote on the underside of the motor. may be a combination of more than one thing. cleaned as best as i could the linkage under the flywheel and lubed it and...
that's some sound advise.
one thing have noticed it looks like the carb isn't opening fully. i can push where a remote throttle cable would attach and it will advance about as much again as twisting the tiller handle but the carb linkage doesn't move. i thought maybe it had a neutral lock so...
twisting the grip doesn't seem to work, so i am thinking the cable needs lubed on my 1990 20 hp johnson. it will turn if you assist by pushing on the linkage. if that's the problem what do you guys use to clean the gunk out of the cable and lubricate it.
i have a 5 hp honda BF5a, i need to get a connector for the engine side. my force end fits on it which i thinh is mercury. any help would be appriciated. tia
i was wondering will a jack plate raise the motor enough to use my 9.9 long shaft on a 15" transom? if it will it will have to be cheaper than converting the lower unit to a short shaft.
i have a force /gamefisher 9.9 hp but i got an omc tank with it. i think i figured out the engine side.
the tank side has me stumped. is it a standard fittiog that fits it ? don't remember seeing an end with that many holes in the female side.
by that I don't mean it's not working, I mean it really doesn't have one. there is a hole in the case for one. to me it looks like the water is coming out two holes just below the cowling in the middle of the lower case. must admit I have never seen this before. your thoughts.
thx
