How about the Mallory RA107039M looks like a replacement for the IBM-4115 Prestolite. Does anyone have any knowledge on this particular mallory distributor being used in the mid 60's 283F marine engine?
Kenny when I removed the cap and forced the action on the advance it felt rough. Also everything i have read is the springs and weights and what ever else use to be available are now obsolete. When i aquired the boat last fall starboard ran good but the port only ran good at idle and would run...
Both port and starboard distributors have been converted to Ignitor 2 see pic. But seems like a lot of corrosion and a no spark condition on port side. I am looking for reliability. So with that said is the Mallory what others are turning too? Also i suppose items needed would be new...
So on my 1967 Chris Craft with twin 283's the distributors are looking rough and i would like to find the best replacement. Anyone deal with this lately.
