    shift rod question

i measured pretty close to 21-1/4". I can do the work myself pretty easily. when i manually put the shift rod in reverse/forward everything spins fine, no grinding or rough feeling. Gear oil looked good and clean, no burnt smell. The day it wouldn't go in reverse i finished the day out and i ran...

    shift rod question

i was having issues getting my engine into reverse. i could go from reverse to neutral and it wouldn't go into neutral, so i would have to go up into forward a bit and back to neutral to get it to hit neutral. It was doing the same thing in forward, i would have to go past neutral into reverse a...

    35HP Evinrude carb setting.

I believe its the low speed setting on the front. slowly turn counter clockwise to richen it up or clockwise to lean it out and see how it runs. I have an evinrude 15 with the same adjustment knob, and after getting rebuilt it would die on me at idle and found out the mechanic had the knob...

but they both have a water tube that makes connection to the water pump correct?

    grommet sleeve

yes, mine is a 20" shaft. I was just curious as to what was different between the 60 and 90 degree motors for the 60 degree motors to not use them.

    grommet sleeve

Why does it say not to use #16 on 60 degree motors? I have a 2001 johnson 115 and when i pulled mine apart it didn't have that grommet, so i put it back together the same way, but just curious as to why its not used on some and used on others.

Is this a somewhat simple fix?

The few places that its doing this, pieces that are cracked and kind of peeling up are really thin. I may do like suggested above and start sanding and feathering to see what things look like. Thanks.

Is this a somewhat simple fix?

The rest of the deck seems pretty solid. This boat has sat out in the South Texas sun and heat its whole life, so maybe that could be the culprit?

    transducer routing question

Hello, i recently got a garmin chartplotter/fish finder for my boat. In the instructions it says not to route the transducer near any other electrical for chance of interference. Well in my boat i only have one area to run wires and cable from the transom to the console. If i run the transducer...

Is this a somewhat simple fix?

I have a few cracks in the deck of my bluewave. It looks to me like it's just the paint, but i'm not familiar with boat decks/hulls very much. Is this something i can just sand back smooth and repaint? It still feels solid in these areas its just cracking and kind of raising up a bit.
