this may have been answered previously but here goes again.merc lists 3 rod bearings by color. black brown blue.what do these equate to in thousandths such as 10-20-30 thou. just curious. thanks Ralph
2002 Mariner 60hp 4cyl 4stroke. I inherited a engine and
was told that it ran but made a clanking sound. I removed the power head
and found that #4 rod had spun the bearing. my question is can the Crankshaft be ground to compensate for the damage. I have a Seloc manual and it doesnt mention...
Mercury has something called 24c with teflon. not having a merc dealer close, what would be a substitute for this product. this is a sealer isnt it.thanks
2002 Mariner, 60 hp 4 cyl 4stroke. I had to replace forward and pinion gear due to pitting.also replaced carrier brg.and all seals in the lower unit. When i opened the L/U it had no shims except one on the drive shaft just below the
water pump base.
Are the shimms and backlash adjustments...
