Temp gauge Mercruiser 3.0 not working

This sounds most likely, I'm going to check that next time I get up to the cabin. Thanks!

Temp gauge Mercruiser 3.0 not working

I'll check the IR reading when I get home, but I do know that in the past the temp gauge has always shown around 175 degrees (needle straight up) while running. Currently it never budges from 100 which is the lowest value on the gauge.

Temp gauge Mercruiser 3.0 not working

I have a 2007 Bayliner 175 with Mercruiser 3.0 TKS. My engine water temperature gauge has stopped working, needle just shows the minimum value, 100 degrees all the time. I grounded the sender wire at the engine and the gauge deflected to fully pegged. I thought this meant the gauge was good...

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

Why on earth would you add ethanol to gas for cold weather? Ethanol does not vaporize as easily as gasoline in cold weather thus it will make the engine harder to start. I've lived in Minnesota for 65 years and NEVER added ethanol to gasoline. Never had trouble getting those carbureted cars...

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

If you had actually read the quote, you'd notice the government part was just saying that most gas sold in the US is E10 and had nothing to do with the info about shelf life of E10 vs standard gas. Not sure which politicians or professors you're referring to. I also go by personal experience...

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

Oh, sorry to offend. I've had great luck with small engines since I switched to non-ethanol, but it's just anecdotal, I realize that. As is your experience of E10 storing better. My Husqvarna chainsaw manual specifically recommends using non-ethanol fuel. Do you disagree with the following...

Do you use non ethanol gas ?

I buy non-ethanol for my small engines (chainsaw, mower, tiller, etc.) because I think it stores better and doesn't absorb as much water from the air. The BoatUS site says "E10 will sometimes form a mysterious gooey substance that will also clog filters". I've seen this gooey stuff in carburetors.

    I Bonds

No problem. I've never tried to talk to an actual person there, but to their credit they seem to have a very good website with easy access to everything I've needed. I ran across them about 5 years ago when I did a test of "peer to peer lending" by investing $5k with them in consumer loans...

    I Bonds

I got $10k for me and tried to get $10k for my wife but entered the bank number wrong on hers, now waiting on the Medallion deal to get bank info changed - it's already been six weeks. The website is horrible, like something from about 1996. If you're looking for a decent savings account rate...

    O'Day Mariner Sailboat Restoration

Hey, just wondering if you were able to complete this project? I've got a 1972 Mariner that I've spent a lot of time on as well. I really appreciate all the detailed info and pictures you've posted.
