Voltage Gauge All the way to the right side

It would appear the spring that pushes the needle to the left snapped, allowing the needle to swing freely...I haven't seen it moving, maybe it got stuck at the bottom of the gauge. I'm guessing there is no way to repair these gauges.

Voltage Gauge All the way to the right side

Hey all, Looking for input here. Last time I went out on the boat I noticed the voltmeter gauge is all the way to the right (way past the 18 v mark)...it doesnt move at all, regardless if the engine is on or off.... I'm going to troubleshoot it next time I go to the boat storage but I was...

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

You are close. Not sure if corroded but the actual ignition switch is the culprit. If I wiggle the ignition key a little while the engine is running, the engine stalls. So there is the problem. We can close this thread :)

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

Correct. And my oil alarm is not wired to cut power if the oil pressure drops; it only goes off (audible). I have a killswitch but the lanyard is connected all the time (the switch is always ON). I'll bypass it next time I'm out to see if the issue persists. Perhaps there is a loose terminal or...

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

Do you mean gas pump? Why would the sudden loss of oil pressure turn off the engine?

Mercruiser 3.0 stalls after breaking through waves/wake

Hi, Sometimes, when I hit taller waves, or I break through another's boat tall wake, particularly when part of the hull lands hard on the water, the engine stalls. It sputters (no explosion) and dies slowly (even if I quickly shift to Neutral). I can restart it immediately without issues,. I...

After so many years, this thread lives on. It helped me fix my Alpha 1 Gen 1 reverse issues after replacing the impeller. Thanks

    Water in the bilge

It's an estimate. Maybe it's an ounce, but always the same amount. Funny that I mainly spend time cruising or anchoring near a beach; my friends or family don't go swimming, and we rarely have drinks on the boat lol. It must be condensation, as @airshot suggested.

    Water in the bilge

I boat regularly during the boating season. 3 or 4 times per month. I won't take the outdrive just yet....it isn't that much water for the hassle, but thanks for the advice. I grease all the zerks (outdrive/transom assembly and coupler) at least once at the beginning of the season.

    Water in the bilge

This would explain why it's always the same quantity, I guess...Once whatever is condensing gets to the condensation temp, it slows down dripping water

    Water in the bilge

The thing is, it happens even if no one gets in the boat after being in the water.

    Water in the bilge

Every time I remove my boat's drain plug, a bit of water comes out. It's always the same amount, like half an ounce or less. Regardless of the time I spend on the water, 30 min or 6 hours, it's always the same quantity. I wonder if one of the below is starting to leak, but does it only when I...

    Boat tool box

I'm considering doing this too. I always bring my complete toolbox with enough tools to take apart the entire boat, but it's heavy, and I can't stow it anywhere, so it's always on the deck. I permanently carry a spare prop and hub and a second battery (with an automatic isolator). I never...

    Clanking/rattling sound after prop change

And this would explain why the 4 blade prop exposed the timing issue of my engine.
