Thanks, I installed it but tore it all back down to put a new gasket on. I tore the sterndrive apart to keep water getting in, so this went against my plan. Oh well, I get more practice installing this sterndrive...
I somehow managed to rip the top of the bell housing gasket, do I have to buy a new one, or is there anything I can do to salvage it? Doubtful I can find one until tomorrow morning.
I have a wooden stand, but I am wondering about the lower shift cable, it's not hooked up at the motor. Will it be an adjustment problem, or can I in stall the stern without any issues?
Will it be ok to install my sterndrive without the lower shift mechanism hooked up at the motor?
I'm ready to stab this but haven't finished hooking the shift cable up at the motor.

After purchasing the manual I searched around and did find some stern drive PDFs that appear to be Mercury step by step direction on stern drive installation, gimbal installation, but couldn't find one for bellows & shift cable. Can someone lead me to a PDF to complete my installation? I just...

I shot the seller a low ball offer and he accepted, so I purchased the newer 2020 book. I can't see it being worse then the old book, I would expect the book to be updated with better techniques, and or superseding part numbers? Who knows, I'll let you know how I feel about it when it arrives.
